Georgian and British Ambassadors discuss the promotion of business contacts with the UIET management


The Ambassadors of Georgia and the United Kingdom in Ashgabat expressed their readiness to promote the intensification of contacts between the business circles of their countries and Turkmen business, the website of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) reports. On the eve, online negotiations were held between between the chairman of the UIET Dovran Hudayberdiev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Mamuka Murjikneli, the press service of the UIET reads. Having informed about the activities of the Turkmen business community, the chairman of the UIET told the diplomatic representative about the implementation of large investment projects in Turkmenistan as well as about good results were achieved in the production of building materials, food industry, horticulture, livestock and poultry farming. The ambassador, in turn, having noted the stability of the Turkmen economy, its investment climate attractiveness and great potential in the development of Turkmen-Georgian mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, voiced the interest of the Georgian authorities to increase productive contacts between businessmen of two countries. The ambassador also noted that he would make every effort in this direction. In addition, this week, an online meeting was held between the head of the UIET and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan Hugh Stanley Philpott. The Ambassador congratulated the UIET Chairman on his election to this position and confirmed the interest of the UK in the further development of trade and economic cooperation and close business contacts with Turkmenistan, particularly in expanding cooperation between business entities. The meeting participants discussed promising areas of cooperation, including the introduction of modern European technologies and equipment in the activities of Turkmen entrepreneurs, and the implementation of joint projects in various fields. The sides emphasized the importance of further cooperation within the framework of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industrial Council, and the organization of direct talks between the companies of the two countries interested in the cooperation.
