People say: «A thrown thing of one can become a treasure for another». How unnecessary things find their second life, Chinese artist Zhao Xiaoli. A wooden door, an old TV, a broken guitar or a chair, plastic bottles, vintage thermos become a source of inspiration for Zhao, serve as a canvas for her. Art should serve the public, which needs us to think outside the box. Through the form of art, the used items can be redefined," - she says. When someone from her district throws out furniture, Zhao is always the first to learn about it. Last year, a coffee store she often visited was closed and the owner gave her a broken guitar. She created an oil painting which combined works by two Dutch masters, Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer and Wheat Field with Cypresses by Vincent van Gogh. And a chair with a broken leg was turned into Van Gogh's The Starry Night by Zhao. Having finished the faculty of arts at the university in Nanking, she became an illustrator, and opened her studio in Beijing later. Unusual ornaments from plastic bottles, their lids and also other unnecessary materials are created also by Turkmen skilled worker Natalia Kalugina. - We should protect environment, protect ecology, - she says. This message is born by her new collection of ornaments issued in national style. They become excellent addition to any dress - after all now many fashionable brands of clothes adhere to a harmless direction in the collections. Natalia Pavlovna began her work on a collection last year and has finished it recently. Completely she will present a new collection of ornaments on fashionable display in Ashgabat on July 11. - Plastic bottles are in each house. Not to throw out them, I have found their application, - Natalia Kalugina tells. Eco-style introduction in modern design is a confident step forward which shows that it is possible to be harmless, but at the same time to remain stylish, using along with creation of clothes and accessories natural materials or secondary raw materials. Thus, we will secure ourselves and we will keep nature of our planet.
