Are there prospects for energy cooperation between the countries of Transcaucasia and Turkmenistan?
The deputy of the supreme legislative body of Armenia Sh. Torosyan considers: "Yes!" - The interaction between Turkmenistan and the countries of Transcaucasia, in particular, Armenia and Georgia has real prospects. In his opinion, the agreements reached during the recent visit of the Georgian prime minister to the Turkmen capital, as well as the visit of President Berdimuhamedov to Yerevan, (we add from ourselves - and to Baku), give grounds to assert that the prospects are encouraging. Torosyan believes that the visits mentioned were aimed at discussing specific projects and that the energy partnership between the countries of Transcaucasia and Turkmenistan can be realized with the help of the existing Armenia-Georgia gas pipeline. According to experts, the energy partnership of the states of Transcaucasia with Turkmenistan is not a futuristic project from the distant future, but rather a return to past experience. Thus, in the last century, the Transcaucasian republics received part of the consumed natural gas from Turkmenistan. So back! To the future!
