Oil and gas Turkmenistan is heading for the development of renewable energy
There were earlier projects and some progress in the sense that Turkmenistan, rich in oil and gas resources, is heading for the development of renewable energy. But now, this has been immediately supported by three Decrees issued by President Berdimuhamedov at a Cabinet meeting via a video link. The first document provides for the establishment of an Interdepartmental Working Group for Developing a National Renewable Energy Development Strategy to ensure power stability in the country. The second document authorizes the Foreign Ministry to engage international organizations and other international establishments in the preparation of a Draft National Renewable Energy Development Strategy in Turkmenistan. And finally, by the third Decree of the head of state, Turkmen Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) Serdarmammet Garajaev was appointed Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the International Renewable Energy Agency. So this is another illustration that the bright future of the country, like of the whole world, is based upon green technology, which is just around the corner.
