Turkmen Symphony Orchestra celebrates 80th anniversary of Disney's Fantasy Concert
The "Fantasy" of Walt Disney, presented by the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Rasul Klychev, was remembered by the Ashgabat public for its bright and enchanting immersion in the world of classical music and the legendary characters of Disney.
And since this year marks the 80th anniversary of the release of the full-length animated film "Fantasy", where eight classical works are the main musical background, the symphony orchestra again decided to please the music lovers and mark the anniversary of the cartoon with an invitation to a fairy tale.
On June 14, a concert program filled with “magical” classics will be held at the Magtymguly Music and Drama Theater. After all, as you know, based on the ballad of Johann Goethe, the Disney story is shown by Mickey Mouse as an apprentice sorcerer, and the mystification of the tale is incredibly organically woven into the sound of the symphony of Paul Duke and the music of Johann Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Peter Tchaikovsky, Modest Mussorgsky ...
In Fantasy, Walt Disney, using drawings and colors, reflected his perception of classical music, which has a powerful effect on the emotional world of a person. The animator himself said this: “This is my own arbitrary reaction to the music, the impressions that it causes me. Maybe this is art? I do not know!".
“A year ago, our orchestra already tried to recreate Disney fantasy on the Ashgabat stage,” says conductor Rasul Klychev. - Now we want to present to the audience the second musical part of the famous animated film. It would seem that the cartoon is designed for a children's audience, but the music in it is serious. Therefore, animating the Disney story for children, we want even the smallest cartoon fans to pay attention not only to the screens, but also to the sound that accompanies the picture.
Of course, when you see the images that appear on the screen during the sound of the orchestra, the impression of viewing changes somewhat. The viewer seems to be inside the fairy tale and sees in a different way such stories familiar from childhood.
“The images born of this amazing music still excite the imagination of the viewer,” continues Rasul Klychev. - The Walt Disney project, presented to the public in 1940, has become a classic of the animated genre also due to the audio component. Therefore, we thought that it would be better to play the concert in the cozy hall of the Magtymguly Theater, since the atmospheric acoustics of the hall will allow us to convey all the musical subtleties of sound.
