Turkmenistan is ready to counter the coronavirus pandemic

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed a Decree to approve the Preparedness Plan of Turkmenistan for counteracting a novel coronavirus and taking quick response measures. The plan is aimed to strengthen comprehensive measures on combatting the spread of especially dangerous infectious diseases, expand cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN and its specialized agencies, in particular, the World Health Organization. Implementation of this Plan provides for the modernization of the material and technical base of the healthcare system to combat the infectious diseases, the updating of specialized equipment and facilities on a regular basis, the introduction of international best practices. Implementation of the scheduled measures will contribute to improving the qualifications of medical personnel, the quality of physicians’ work in specialized areas.
