More than 4 thousand people are constructing the Ashgabat – Turkmenabat Autobahn

More than four thousand people and about two thousand units of construction equipment are currently employed in the construction of the Ashgabat – Turkmenabat Highway. This makes this transport project one of the largest in the country, the official newspaper of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan writes.
The main work today is focused on laying asphalt. For this purpose, 1,100 dump trucks, 38 bulldozers, 113 rinks and other modern machines of the world’s best manufacturers are involved on the future highway.
The huge construction site will provide work for thousands of Turkmen citizens until 2023 – by this time, it is planned to put fully in commission the expressway. The first stage of the routing from the capital to Tejen is planned to be completed in 2020, the second – to Mary – in 2022, and the third section – to Turkmenabat – at the end of 2023.
The experience of such a large-scale construction will also open up new prospects for private firms involved in the project. They will be able to receive larger and larger orders, including from foreign partners. To do this, the Turkmen business will have enough qualified specialists, necessary construction equipment and resources.
The construction of the 600-kilometer Ashgabat–Turkmenabat Highway, priced at $2.3 billion, is being carried out by the Closed Joint-Stock Company “Turkmen Autoban”.
