Traditions in Islam: Night of Power and Predestination

Lailatul-qadr or the Night of power and predestination, the most important night of the year for every Muslim. Nobody knows the exact time of the onset of Lyailatul-qadr - according to the Qur'an, it falls on one of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.
According to some sources, the Lailatul-qadr falls on the 27th night of Ramadan, that is, in 2020 according to the Gregorian calendar in most Muslim countries, including Turkmenistan, this night falls from May 19th to 20th.
That night, according to Islamic sources, the angel Jabrail appeared to the prayer in the cave of Hira near Mecca to the Prophet Muhammad and gave him the first five verses of Sura al-Alak.
It is believed that on the night of al-Qadr angels descend from heaven in order to better hear the prayers of people. That is why on the Night of Predestination it is customary to ask for forgiveness from the Almighty for the committed sins and read the Qur'an.
“Qadr” is translated from Arabic as “predestination” and “greatness”. It is also believed that the name of the coming night came from the verb “cadar”, meaning “to constrain” - when the angel Jabrail appeared to the Prophet, he hugged the Prophet with his wings three times before passing on the verses.
To spend this night in prayers for a Muslim means receiving a reward for a thousand months (83 years) of worship.
Fate, a person’s life path is predetermined in heaven precisely in the Lailatul-qadr, and if this night is spent in prayers, in the recognition of one’s actions and possible mistakes, then Allah will be merciful and will forgive sins.
They say that it is possible to determine the Lailatul-qadr by signs - usually on the Night of Power and Predestination the weather is cloudless and without precipitation, it is neither particularly hot nor cold. This night is quiet and serene, the moon shines clearly, stars do not fall, and so lasts until dawn. And in the morning the sun rises like a full moon - without blinding rays, with gentle light. On this day, Allah, as the faithful say, forbids evil spirits to rise with the sun.
Scientists believe that the wisdom of the lack of an exact date of the Lailatul-qadr is that the faithful pray earnestly not only on one night of the month of Ramadan, but all the last ten.
For the followers of Islam, Ramadan is the holy month of fasting, prayers and pious deeds. During this period, Muslims abstain from food, drink and entertainment throughout the daylight hours. The faithful take food before sunrise or after sunset.
In Turkmenistan, Oraza (Ramadan) in 2020 began with the sunset on April 24th and ends on May 23rd in the evening, after which, on May 24th begins the Feast of Revelation or Oraza Bairam - one of the most important events in Islam.
