Saudi Arabia welcomes Turkmenistan's participation in OPEC’s Vienna meeting
Deputy prime minister of Turkmenistan on fuel and energy complex Maksat Babayev had a meeting in Riyadh with the Minister for Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih. The meeting was held in the framework of the regular meeting of joint Turkmen-Saudi commission and attended by Prince Faisal Bin Turki bin Abdulaziz, adviser to the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalid Al-Salem, head of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority, Ibrahim Assaadan, vice president of Saudi Aramco and Adeeb Al-Aama, Saudi governor to OPEC.
As the Saudi Press Agency reports, the parties discussed the current situation in the oil market and the efforts of the international community to balance the global oil extraction.
In particular, the importance of historic output cut deal between OPEC countries and non-OPEC countries was emphasized, which plays an essential role in maintaining stability in the market and promoting investments in future supplies.
During the meeting, Babayev highly appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom to expand bilateral cooperation and investment cooperation. He also confirmed Turkmenistan's intention to participate as an observer in the official meeting of OPEC, to be held in Vienna on 30 November.
“I am delighted that Turkmenistan will be attending the upcoming Declaration of Co-operation meeting in Vienna as an observer. Cooperation between OPEC and non-OPEC countries is already helping to deliver market stability, and I commend Turkmenistan for their participation and support of this joint effort. I am confident it will lead to even closer cooperation and investment links between our two great countries”, told Al-Falih to reporters after the meeting with Babayev.
