Berdimuhamedov and Putin discussed coronavirus counteraction and trade-economic issues


Today the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation have exchanged warm congratulations by the telephone on the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, specifying the special significance of this common anniversary for the peoples of the two countries, who proudly cherish the memory of the unprecedented feat of war veterans and home front workers. This was reported on the official website of the Kremlin. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Vladimir Putin for sending a delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan to celebrate Victory Day, and for transferring to the Turkmen party a copy of the Victory Banner and the original Colors of the 748th Rifle Regiment of the 206th Division of the Second Ukrainian Front, in which Berdimuhamed Annayev, the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan, fought heroically. The heads of state also discussed the coronavirus pandemic situation, agreeing to continue contacts between the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries. Other issues of bilateral cooperation were addressed during the conversation, primarily those related to trade and economic sectors.
