Ashgabat is part of the World Tourism Cities Federation


The capital city of Turkmenistan has joined the World Tourism Cities Federation. As part of the cooperation, Ashgabat will participate in tourism sectors development programs, exchange experiences with other member cities and companies of the organization, as well as create and promote resources and services for travelers based on the best world practices.
Turkmenistan is attracting a steadily growing attention of tourists. And Ashgabat, of course, is the first in the list of cities to be visited. The caravan routes of the Great Silk Road, historical monuments of ancient ages and modern architecture, a warm climate and a convenient transit zone for flights to other countries of the continent: all this can be said about the “city of love” as Ashgabat is also called.
The World Tourism Cities Federation, established in Beijing on September 15, 2012, is actively attracting such locations to cooperation. Today it is the first international tourism organization engaged in development of member cities, infrastructure and image thereof.
The Federation member cities include Bangkok, Budapest, Cairo, Dublin, Hamburg, Jakarta, London, Milan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague, Wuhan, Zurich and many other world capitals and megacities.
Institutional members of the organization are Airbnb, America express, ORIENT and its partners are China Daily, JTB Corp, Four Season Hotels and Resorts, MasterCard, TripAdvisor and so on, totaling about 50 world-known companies.
The number of participants in the World Tourism Cities Federation is constantly growing, and it is today recognized as one of the fastest growing international tourism organizations.
