Digital Education at Dashoguz School
On the initiative of experienced teacher-programmer, director Kurbandurdy Kulmedov, a local internal computer network was created in secondary school No. 16 of Dashoguz city that now contributes to successfully using advanced information, communications and innovative technologies in the educational process. Teachers and pupils at any time have access to the mobile services of the school network through computers, laptops and other modern devices, which main page contains all the basic sections.
According to Kurbandurdy, the database of the local network is on the server through which the electronic educational information is managed and updated. Information about all students, their personal files are stored in a separate folder. The educational audio, video and digital materials, text files and photographs available in the school site database are used at the lessons in majors.
Teachers and schoolchildren systematically use the electronic library, the fund of which has a large number of textbooks in all academic disciplines. In a separate section, the lesson schedule is systematically updated. Teachers post grades to students in an electronic journal, and using a digital device based on an accurate calculation, grades for each quarter are automatically posted. Electronic diaries, in addition, provide an opportunity to learn about the performance and homework of each individual pupil, read the teacher’s comments.
Reports on the successes of the best schoolchildren are stored and systematically updated in the sections “School News” and “Electronic Wall Newspaper”. Information on the achievements of schoolchildren in competitions and contests at various levels is of particular interest to users. Schoolchildren are regular participants in distance international competitions. Among the best young intellectuals were seventh formers of the Dashoguz city secondary school No. 16 Nargiz Bakhadirova and Gulnaz Matyakubova, the winners of the International Online English Language Contest, held in November last year by the Scientific and Educational Center “Erudite” (Russia). Experienced English language teacher Maysa Gurbanova elped her pupils achieve that serious success in their lives. And tenth former Bahtiyar Rozmetov won first place at the aforementioned prestigious intellectual competition in the field of computer science on the topic “Positional Numerical System”. He was prepared for the contest by computer science teacher Komek Komekov.
The drawing of sixth former Hurshid Matmuradov was awarded the Rose of Lidice medal and Certificate of Appreciation at the International Exhibition of Children’s Artworks held in Lidice (Czech Republic) last year, which presented the works of young painters from 79 countries of the world.
Messages about the sports life of a school of general education are constantly updated. The best pupils of higher category physical education teacher Bakhadir Ismailov are pleasing with their successes. Among his pupils are multiple winners of regional sports and athletics contests and championships in badminton, handball, sports dances, as well as prize-winners at city tennis competitions. Interesting information is available in the “Health Corner” section, where videos are shown about promoting a healthy lifestyle, sanitation, and hygiene.
Teleconferences were organized at the secondary school No. 16 with the Beki Seytakov Dashoguz Teachers Training School and the Dashoguz Velayat Library to exchange views on the use of digital technologies in modern education. The school traditionally hosts seminars and meetings with the leaders of other secondary schools, at which teacher-programmer, school director Kurbandurdy Kulmedov willingly shares his accumulated practical experience in the transition to digital learning.
The school administration continues to expand the capabilities of the electronic educational system. The application of digital materials in the training process has an important role to play in developing new conceptual areas of the education system in Turkmenistan such as digital and online teaching of the young generation.
