Berdimuhamedov and Mirziyoyev discussed disaster and pandemic management by phone


President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed in a telephone conversation the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Uzbek relations based on the principles of strategic partnership. This was reported with reference to the Press Service of the Uzbek President by the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG). During a telephone conversation, issues related to the elimination of the Sardoba reservoir emergency aftermaths in Uzbekistan were raised. The heads of state also exchanged views on the epidemiological situation due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. The parties expressed full mutual support for measures to prevent the dangerous disease, as well as the national economy and the population being undertaken in the two fraternal countries in this difficult period. The Presidents instructed the relevant ministries and departments to strengthen coordination and collaboration in organizing an effective fight against the pandemic. The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also considered a number of pressing issues of the international policy and regional cooperation.
