Tasting television arts: open day at the technical college
For common people, television is a bright moving picture on a TV or smartphone screen that shows something. But in reality it is long hours of work, thousands of people involved and a common desire for excellence.
Students of Ashgabat schools have learned today about how television operates. The Mavy Yshyk (Blue Screen) training center opened its doors for them and revealed some secrets of professional skill.
The schoolchildren were shown equipment used to make modern films are, told about the variety of television professions, and presented the students’ works such as vivid videos about studies and control projects, as well as printed products, which even television cannot do without.
The most interesting thing for the guests was to try to cope with the equipment themselves, which sometimes is similar to spacecraft in its complexity (and sometimes even surpasses it). The cameras were inspected, studied, turned on and aimed under the supervision of teachers. Sometimes students even caught very successful shots that could become part of the college chronicle.
The projectors worked, “running” the best of student works, tapes and discs were recorded, demonstrating the whole process, the illumination turned on and off - the technical school teachers explained why it was so important and how to “arrange” it correctly.
To demonstrate the development of technology in the television field, students were shown a real rarity - a film projector. It was thanks to this kind of equipment that their grandparents could once watch the masterpieces of cinema. Using it, it is movie shows can be arranged even today.
The open day organizers hope that today’s schoolchildren will sit at the desks of their technical school tomorrow to become part of the television industry of Turkmenistan. And perhaps there will be great directors, skilled camera operators, prominent screenwriters or brilliant news anchors among these boys and girls who will enrich the Turkmen television art.
