Iranian singer – Gold Medal Winner of Global Music Awards 2020


Abdolhosein Mokhtabad, one of the most famous singers and composers of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian classical and traditional music) won the gold medal at the Global Music Awards 2020 for the song “Az Sharm Dar Hejabam” (In hijab out of shame), the globalmusicawards.com website reports. He was the first Iranian who won this contest.
The Global Music Awards was established in 2011 and, within a short period of time, has gained a reputation as a reputable international project for independent musicians.
Abdolhossein Mokhtabad, Iranian performer of Sufi music, is the soloist of the Saba Music Ensemble. The team’s performances are known both inside the homeland and far beyond. The Saba gave concerts in more than 30 countries of the world.
Abdolhosein Mokhtabad is also the Head of the Commission on Culture in Iran and the Art Faculty Dean at the University of Tehran.
