A concert of French pianists Maxim Zekini and David Bismuth took place in Ashgabat, in the Magtymguly Musical and Dramatic Theater, in which Turkmen soloists also performed. As French Ambassador to Turkmenistan Francois Delaus said, welcoming the gathering audience at the opening of the evening, that the program entitled “Eternal Love” is a tribute to the memory of Maestro Charles Aznavour - composer, actor, poet and writer who left us on October 1st this year. Behind two pianos - black and white - the pianists on the stage of the theater themselves looked like a work of art. And with the first chords, the obsession intensified by many times.Myahrihemal TUVAKOVA
Passion for "Carmen" by Georges Bizet seized the hall. Glowing the atmosphere, French musicians seemed to bring the audience to a climax - arias performed by Ashgabat’s favorite singer Nury Nuryyev. At the end of the cycle “Carmen”, he, together with Bahar Durdyeva, sang “Segidilla” to the accompaniment of two pianos - a song for Spanish folk dance.
The second part of the concert was dedicated to suites from famous French films. The familiar melodies of Michel Legrand and Vladimir Cosmas in the hands of Maxim Zekini and David Bismuth sounded in complete silence, in order to then break the real storm of applause.
In the final part of the concert, the musicians together with opera singers performed works by Charles Aznavour, Claude Francois, Nury Halmammedov, Patricia Kaas, Joe Dassin, Bayramdurdy Hudainazarov. The final chord of the wonderful evening was the famous song of Edith Piaf “No, I do not regret anything” - “Non, je ne regrette rien”.
Maxim Zekini and David Bismut did not regret anything, having come together for the second time to Ashgabat. And, of course, the public did not regret anything, and their trips to the autumn concerts of the French duet, we hope, will become a good tradition.
