In Tajikistan, first 15 cases of a novel coronavirus registered


Tajikistan has registered its first cases of a novel coronavirus, Sputnik Tajikistan reports citing the country’s Health Ministry. Confirmed coronavirus cases have been officially announced at an emergency session of the Tajikistan’s State Commission for the Prevention of the Coronavirus Pandemic, headed by the Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda. During the session, it was admitted that there are 15 novel coronavirus cases in the country. According to the official data, ten cases were confirmed the northern province of Sughd, and five – in the capital, Dushanbe. “In total, some 2,000 people suspected of contracting the coronavirus reportedly remain under medical observation in the country,” the sources of Sputnik Tajikistan told. Amid the COVID-19 cases in territory of Tajikistan, schools were closed. The decision was made during the emergency session of the Tajikistan’s State Commission for the Prevention of the Coronavirus Pandemic. So far, Turkmenistan now is the only the COVID-19-free country in Central Asia that has not officially reported any cases of the coronavirus.
