Melodies of Turkmen Dutar - at the international festival in Samarkand
The Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Palvan Khamidov presented unique traditions of the Bakhshi Performance School at the 11th international music festival "Sharq Taronalari" ("Melodies of the East") in Samarkand.
At the festival of music of the peoples of the world, the favorite of the Turkmen public performed with his accompanists. The folklore group "Dagdan" from the city of Turkmenbashi, which represented Turkmenistan at the gala concert, captivated the audience with the lively dance "kushtdepti".
At the Opening Ceremony of the festival, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that today, when confrontations, various challenges and threats are increased in the world, the importance of music and art as a uniting principle, and the higher creative purpose of a person is growing.
"Shark Taronalari" is a real theater of ethnic music, collecting artists from all corners of the world on the "scene" of the historical Registan Complex every two years. It is included in the number of international cultural events of UNESCO. The ensembles and soloists from Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Great Britain, USA, Japan, China, India, Russia, Turkey, Malaysia, Australia, Iran, Afghanistan took part in this show this year.
In the past years, Turkmen artists also represented our country at this contest, attracting constant interest among the audience and appreciation of the jury. So, one of the winners of Grand Prix "Shark Taronalari" is the performer of folk music Lyale Begnazarova.
