Students from different countries sang a song for Victory Day

The 75th anniversary of the Great Victory is approaching - this is an important and touching holiday, uniting generations and peoples in terms of the heroic feat of people who liberated the world from fascist invaders. Students of the Higher School of Translation of the Moscow State University recorded a video in which they performed one of the most heartfelt songs about the Great Patriotic War: “We need one victory”. The deeply impressing soulful poems by Bulat Okudzhava, line by line sung by the students from Armenia, Belgium, Greece, Iraq, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and other countries, caused a great response in the hearts of Internet users. “The planet is burning and revolving, Smoke over our homeland, And that means we need one victory, One for all - we will not stand for the price. One for all - we will not stand for the price”.
Students sing in a single impulse, erasing the boundaries between people of different nationalities, because the universal exploit in the fight against fascism is immortal. In the COVID-19 pandemic conditions, students studying in the online mode have proven that self-isolation does not deprive them of the opportunity to be together. The creative idea was initiated by teachers of the educational institution, who also edited the video. Actions in honor of the winner warriors are held around the globe. One of the most famous is the “Candle of Remembrance”. Having become traditional, it annually unites the growing number of participants.
On May 8 in the evening, thousands of people in different cities turn off the lights in their apartments in order to light a candle and put it on the window, thus paying tribute to the soldiers who fell on the fronts of World War II.
Accompanied by a minute’s silence, innumerable candles of remembrance will be lit this year as well.
The candle does not melt, does not cry, but sobs: It remembers the fallen in terrible battles...
