Mineral fertilizers from Central Asia will go to the world market through the port of Batumi


In the Georgian port of Batumi the construction of a multimodal terminal for transit of mineral fertilizers made in Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as the site «Novosti Uzbekistana» informs.
As initiators of realisation of this project international company Wondernet Express registered in Uzbekistan, and American company Trammo, created a joint venture and invested in the project more than 20 million US dollars acted.
It will be possible to store in the new terminal to 60 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers which, will be accumulated in the beginning at the sea port of Baku and therefrom by rail will be delivered to Batumi.
«We are grateful for a new possibility from the point of view of transfer of goods from the Caspian sea, Central Asia to the Black sea, and then, finally, to the European markets», - Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rijvadze says.
It is planned that the new transport corridor will becomes the shortest and most effective route for goods from Central Asia to the Black Sea coast, and therefrom – to the world market.
«We build absolutely a new terminal for transfer of mineral fertilizers imported from Central Asia. Basically it is Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan which have rich stocks of natural gas and increase capacities on manufacture of mineral fertilizers. We create a new logistical corridor, a transport route for concrete cargoes from Central Asia that they could leave in the shortest terms to the world markets», - director of joint American-Georgian enterprise Wondernet Express Investment Group Jaloliddin Avezov explained.
Experts note that the new terminal in Batumi will correspond completely to the strictest international ecological requirements.
