Plein-air at the hippodrome: inspired by the beauty of the Akhalteke horses

Students of Ashgabat art schools held a joint exhibition on the Holiday of the Turkmen Horse. Surprised and delighted art students with pleasure watched each other’s works. The main characters of children’s creative works were the Akhalteke horses, the pride of the Turkmens. Incarnated in painting, tapestry, sculpture and jewelry, a barely recognizable and clearly sensible vision of a fast racehorse is so bright that the question involuntarily arises of how could a child’s hand so precisely and easily display the beauty of Akhalteke? - It’s very simple, Byashim Nurali Art School teacher Nurmammed Nurmammedov explains. - An important part of teaching painting is the plein-air (painting lessons outdoors). When we with students get outdoors, the question “Where to conduct a lesson?” is resolved by itself. We almost always go to the city hippodrome to study nature, where students can closely watch the beautiful Akhalteke horses, and make their basic sketches. The plein-air practice is one of the most favorite activities for young artists. In the conditions of wildlife, children observe and better convey large spatial images, develop the “hardness of the hand”, and learn to see the world around them in a new, their own way. Young talents presented their best incarnations of the Turkmen horse in art at the Fine Arts Exhibition Center of Turkmenistan. What is more difficult: to draw a horse or incarnate its dynamic image in carpet weaving? - Any craft presupposes its subtleties and complexities, Nurmammed Nurmammedov says. - Regardless of which department the children study at, whether it sculpture, painting or ceramics - everyone has to be able to make sketches. As a teacher of sculpture, I can say that the process of creating even the smallest figurine is divided into several stages, beginning from a sketch to its physical realization, and therefore the works created by our young students are so valuable and cherished. The Akhalteke horse is a true miracle, created by nature itself. It is a racehorse that has been unsurpassed over millennia, and today it still attracts the attention of representatives of all creative professions. On the eve of the Holiday of the Turkmen Horse the most beautiful horse of 2020 was chosen in Turkmenistan . It was the beautiful black Akhalteke horse Gyrsakar, which, of course, will be another beautiful symbol that inspires young painters to make new creative endeavors and successful artistic solutions.
