Horse-fire or Flaming in the sun: Horse Holiday was celebrated in Turkmenistan
The National Turkmen Horse Holiday was celebrated today at the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Center near Ashgabat. The event that joined folklore performance and horse race competitions in a common spectacle was held with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Many original customs and beautiful ceremonies are associated with horse as the horse is always played important role in the life of Turkmen. Moreover, in the national jewelry art, there is even a specialization – jewelry for the horse that is made from precious metals and stones. All this and much more was presented and performed “in action” during the festive event.
And horse race was the heart of the celebration event – best sport horses represented the breed farms and horse breeding centers of the country. Of course, it was a competition not only for horses, but also for jockeys, who contended for victory.
And also for seyis, horse breeders, as the result of the race would show up the efficiency of his “bring he horse up” work. Although the goodwill of a Fortune in competitions is still often the decisive mystical moment from ancient times.
During the festive race, 12 “horse-jockey” pairs have participated in each group, depending the age of the horse and the distance: from 1600 to 2400 meters.
Competent people claim that the zeal for victory drives not only horse riders, but also horses. They, like the sportsmen, are familiar with the pre-start “fever”, are able to get ready and concentrated for a goal, and they are also in the mood for a victory. This excitement is in the blood of the Akhal-Teke horse, it is his gene that inflames his blood and heart.
Yes, these are pretty self-willed horses due to their temperament and intelligence, that is why they do not accept the ordinary training. To bring up a good horse, and especially a sport horse, you should earn his trust, to become more than a friend – a brother, an older brother.
Then the horse-fire will blossom out and will be controlled – after all, once a man “domesticated” even a fire, and domestication of the horse was almost the most significant civilization breakthrough after that.

Passion calmed down with the competition results, each winner was awarded with the cash prize of 20 thousand US dollars, and the one who won the longest distance was awarded with the cash of 30 thousand dollars.
The winners of the 60 km equestrian marathon and show jumping competitions that were held on the eve of the holiday were also awarded with the prize of 20 thousand dollars.
