WHO expert mission to visit Turkmenistan and Tajikistan


An expert mission from the World Health Organization will be sent to Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge said at a briefing in Copenhagen. A WHO team of experts arrives in the country for a few days, visits cities, medical facilities and important facilities. Following the visit, experts issue a verdict on the epidemiological situation in the country and give recommendations on improving measures to protect against the spread of coronavirus. According to official data in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, not a single case of COVID-19 was recorded. According to the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Nurmukhammed Amannepesov at a briefing on the situation with coronavirus on Wednesday, at present, in three quarantine zones of the country located in the Lebap region, in the cities of Turkmenbashi and Garabogaz, 151 people remain for diagnosis, most of whom are truckers and crew members of ships.
