The 2020 Most Beautiful Ahal-Teke Horse is announced in Turkmenistan

At the International Akhal-Teke horse beauty contest, black stallion Gyrsakyr, which comes from legendary Gerden and Ovadan, was announced as the most beautiful horse of 2020. The final round of this unique contest was held with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex.
Ten outstanding Akhal-Teke horses have reached the final tour the contest, held since 2011 in honour of National Turkmen Horse Holiday. They were selected during qualification rounds and represented all regions of the country – Ashgabat, Akhal, Balkan, Lebap, Dashoguz and Mary.
Each of the elite representatives of the Akhal-Teke breed of horses was taken twice (first without any harness and in the second time, wearing full set of horse jewellery) to the stage by horse breeders, so the competent jury could objectively evaluate the beauty, stature and grace of these “heavenly” creations and choose the most beautiful horse.
In this regard, it was not an easy task for the jury as all the “contenders” for the high award were worthy of victory, and the first place was only one, not ten. Finally, after a long discussion of experts, a decision was made – black stallion Gyrsakyr that belongs to Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan was announced as the most beautiful horse of 2020. It was bred and trained by the honoured horse breeder of Turkmenistan Mammetmyrat Gazakov, who received the main prize on behalf of the Head of the State – the key from Audi Q8 luxury sport crossover.
Then, the names of the winners of art contest for the best image of unique natural charm and beauty of horses have been announced. The best works have been selected according to nominations like the best fine and decorative art, best painting and sculpture of horses as well as publishing media, photos and videos. On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, winners of the creative contest were awarded with cash prizes in the amount of 1 to 3 thousand US dollars.
At the holiday event, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demonstrated outstanding skill in riding a horse. Under storm of applauses, the head of state made a ride on dun Toyly, Akhal-Teke horse that was presented by the horse breeders of the country.
