The tourist-ethnographic program “Would you like to know?” (“Bilesiňiz gelýärmi?) is broadcasted every two weeks on the Turkmen youth TV channel Yashlyk. The camera crew of this program has already visited Switzerland, Serbia, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and many other countries.
The issue is dedicated to the culture, architectural sights, folk songs and dances, traditions, nature and national cuisine of amazing neighbor Turkey. During the trip, the camera crew visited three Turkish cities – Eskisehir, Bilecik and Bursa.
The shooting of “Bilesiňiz gelýärmi?” began in Eskişehir, which translates from Turkish as “Old City”. It all because, that, perhaps, this city spiritually and historically, including buildings built in the era of the Great Seljuk’s Empire, is close to Turkmenistan.
Turkmen TV team visited the exhibition at the Center for Culture, Science, Education and Art of the Turkic world, where the Turkmen national clothing, musical instruments and sculptures of the great representatives of the Turkmen nation, including military leaders, poets, and philosophers are represented.
In addition to the typical tourist routes, viewers of “Bilesiňiz gelýärmi?” would be familiarized with local cuisine and, in the literal sense of the word, would fall with operators into Porsuk River, on which Eskisehir stands.
The city of Bilecik is of especial love by the Turkmen heart. Not far from it, there is the village of Kynyk where buried the historical ancestors of the Turkmen – descendants of Kynyk, Oghuz Khan’s younger grandson. The people living in the village belong to the Oghuz clan, the Kynyk tribe and they are close relatives to Turkmen as they speak a language very similar to Turkmen and have similar traditions and customs. In addition, here is the Mausoleum of Ertuğrul, the famous commander and founder of the Ottoman Empire.
Bursa, popular tourist city, attracted the Turkmen camera crew with its developed tourist routes, amazing cuisine and various international festivals that take place here very often. Turkmen artists regularly participate in these cultural events.
The telecast about Turkey of “Bilesiňiz gelýärmi?” will be broadcasted on Yashlyk TV Channel on Sunday, October 28.
