Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan do not need assistance, the EU says


European Union plans to allocate its partner countries, including Central Asian countries , more than 20 billion euros to fight against coronavirus pandemic and to buttress their economies against the onslaught of the coronavirus. This was announced by Josep Borrell, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy The EU will help the most vulnerable countries in Africa, the Eastern Partner countries, parts of Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. Among Central Asian countries, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will receive from the EU the financial and technical assistance package of 36 million euros, 48 million euros and 36 million euros, respectively. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will not receive the financial support because these countries are among the upper middle-income countries and do not need humanitarian aid. As of Wednesday, 1290 new type coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Kazakhstan. There is no coronavirus case in Turkmenistan.
