Indian woman rode a moped 1,400 km for her son stuck in the neighboring state

Razia Begum, a 50-year-old Indian resident, rode 1,400 km by moped in three days, according to the Hindustan Times. She made a trip from the state of Talangan to neighboring Andhra Pradesh for the sake of a 17-year-old son, who was stuck visiting his friend because of the self-isolation regime introduced in the country. Begum is a single mother, her husband died 12 years ago, and she is raising a son and daughter alone, says the Hindustan Times. To take the child home, she had to obtain special permission from the police. The woman admitted that she was not afraid to drive alone along deserted roads. “The desire to see my son gave me energy,” Begum admitted.
