The Chinese authorities have unblocked the exit from Wuhan, where at the end of 2019 the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 began, before that the city was cut off from the outside world for 76 days. Earlier, on March 25, the PRC authorities lifted restrictions on entry and exit from Hubei Province. On the night of April 8, authorities opened routes for leaving the city, allowing people to leave it by car, provided that they are healthy and do not pose a threat to others, RIA Novosti reports. Since January 23, transport links with Wuhan have been completely suspended, buses and water transport were not allowed in, and the airport and railway stations did not work. Citizens could not leave it without special permission. Only on March 28 in Wuhan, the railway connection to enter was resumed. Earlier, the PRC authorities said that the spread of the COVID-19 virus within China is “largely stopped,” but there is a risk that imported cases will provoke a second wave of the epidemic. In total, more than 83 thousand cases of infection were detected in China, 3331 people died.
