The concert hall of the Turkmen National Conservatory (TNC) hosted an anniversary concert in memory of the outstanding Turkmen composer Durdy Nuryev, who on this day, October 17, would have turned 85 years old. He was born in 1933 on the Chkalov collective farm in the Bayramaly district and went through an interesting creative way. The People's Artist of Turkmenistan Orazmyrat Amanmyradov and the composer Kerimguly Garov addressed the audience from the stage with the opening remarks. A presentation on the musical heritage of Durdy Nuryev was made by the senior lecturer of the Department of Music History of TNK Bahargul Yakubova. A fascinating lecture was accompanied by slides with photographs, including manuscripts of works from the composer’s personal archive.
Durdy Nuryev is the author of the opera Flaming Hearts, the ballets Nisa and The Good Sorceress, the first Turkmen musical comedies Guncha and Hopeless Love, as well as a number of symphonic works and concerts for various instruments. For example, his concerts for accordion, gijak and bass dutar are the first samples for these instruments..
He is also known for his music for such films as “The Road of the Burning Van” (together with the composer Chary Nurymov), “The Quiet Daughter” and “Through the Cities of Turkmenistan”. Widely popular among the people were his songs and romances.
Especially a lot of attention was paid by the composer to the younger generation. He is the author of many songs for children's choir and instrumental pieces for young musicians, collections of which were published not only in Turkmenistan, but also in Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, Tashkent, etc.
Among his works, the most notable are the arrangements of folk melodies - “Lala”, “Kone Guzer” (“Old Coast”), “Nar Agadji” (“Pomegranate Tree”), “Sen-sen”, “Bibidzhan”, “Sona Gelin”, "Kushtdepdi", "Ene", etc. And although his favorite instrument was the piano, he also wrote for the button accordion, accordion, flute, oboe, violin, dutar, gijak and other instruments, enriching the pedagogical repertoire for children's music schools. His works continue to be performed in our country, and abroad, including in educational institutions of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
The evening of commemoration of the composer Durdy Nuryev was continued by the concert performances of teachers and students of the conservatory. The concert program included a duet of Aknabat and Merdan from the musical drama “Ovadan gelin” performed by senior teacher of solo singing Nurjemal Rakhmedova and teacher of the department of musical pedagogy Nury Nuryyev. Students also performed: Dursun Taganova with the song “Ejem” and Amangul Mammetberdiyev - “Sana Garashyan”, the piano part was performed by May Beimanova.
Student Omarova Yagshigul sang the song “Soradym Seni”, teacher of the Department of Music Pedagogy Rovshen Bayramov - “Song of Aman” from the operetta “Guncha”, the piano part was performed by Yekaterina Darchia.
Of particular interest to the listeners was the processing of the folk melodies “Kechpelek” for electric dutar and piano - it was presented to the public by the people's artist of Turkmenistan Akmurat Charyyev and Sona Nuryeva, who also performed the “Chal dutarym” tokkatu, dedicated to Durdy Nuryev by their teacher Viktor Grigorevichu Huruntsev In memory of the composer's "Impromptu-fantasy".
The chamber choir of the multinational corporation “Chal Dutary” finished the concert, the artistic director of the choir is the Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Elena Moskvicheva, senior teacher of the choral conducting department - Rano Orunova.
