Sport lifestyle as an immunity of a society - World Health Day in Turkmenistan


World Health Day was celebrated in Turkmenistan by mass bicycle rides and other sporting events. Against the background of strict quarantine in other countries, the country could afford it, since during the new coronavirus epidemic outburst on the planet, not a single case of COVID-19 infection was detected in Turkmenistan which shows the effectiveness of the promptly taken preventive measures.
Turkmenistan so decided to counter the threat of global pandemic, as a sport lifestyle, in addition to preventive restrictions in the activities of the state and society, is the best way to strengthen human immunity.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov himself set the sports orientation of a society, calling upon co-nationals to join the physical training movement, and promoting a health culture as a modern ideology.
Today in the morning, the Turkmen leader has visited the Akhalteke Horse Breeding Complex near Ashgabat, from where rode by bicycle to the Olympic Park in the south-eastern part of the capital city. The event coverage was provided by the Vatan news program of the Turkmen television.
The head of state rode on the cycle race track of the Olympic Park, where it is planned to hold the 2021World Championship. The country’s government members also practiced cycling, with whom the president then spoke on the health-protecting methods and their widespread implementation in practice.
The Olympic Park of Ashgabat today has hosted mass sporting events. Its grounds have become the venues for team competitions and group fitness exercises.
Meanwhile, mass bicycle rides were held outdoors. About three and a half thousand cyclists took part in 15 km distance Ashgabat starts, as ORIENT was informed by the campaign organizers.
According to them, about 500 people covered the 7.5 km route in Akhal. About a thousand local residents participated in an 8 km race in Mary, and in a 3.5 km cycle track in Balkanabat brought together half a hundred amateur cyclists. The same number of people took part in a 6 km cycling race in Dashoguz. In Turkmenabat, the event participants numbered at least a thousand, riding together 12 km.
And since April 7 was a working day, its beginning was marked at many enterprises and organizations with industrial gymnastics. Groups of people doing physical exercises on grounds near their offices could be seen everywhere in Ashgabat.
