Turkmen museums present originality of national applied art in Dushanbe

The days of Turkmen culture in Tajikistan were a great success: concerts, meetings and other events were filled with warm, friendly, sincere communication, joy of discoveries and emotions. As part of the cultural event, museum exhibits from the repositories of the National Museum of Turkmenistan, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Academy of Arts, and the history and local history museums of the Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary regions were displayed at the National Museum of the Republic. Among them - the old women's national clothing with amazing embroidery, silver jewelry, tools for carpet weaving and carpet products, jugs made of ceramics and copper, and so on. The exhibition enjoyed great interest among Dushanbe residents. Special attention was given to unique carpets, woven by Turkmen craftswomen by hand, and works of jewelry from the 17th and 19th centuries. Many asked about the history of the creation of such jewelry. Museum workers were happy to share their knowledge and talk about modern jewelers who preserve the ancient traditions of production. “There was a funny incident,” says Lachin Nurmedova, an employee of the Museum of History and Local History of the Dashoguz velayat. - Considering the traditional decorations, someone asked: “Such a rich thing. Was it the kings worn? ” The exhibition in Tajikistan was a great success - the guests were satisfied, and the staff of the National Museum of the Republic invited Turkmen colleagues to come more often and do not just general exhibitions, but thematic expositions. Turkmenistanis were also impressed. A trip to Tajikistan enriched their knowledge in the professional sphere and contributed to the establishment of direct contacts with colleagues. In recent years, museum business in our country is on the rise: funds and vaults are being actively replenished, museum staff often travel abroad to exchange experiences and learn foreign languages, and the expositions themselves do not gather dust in boxes and travel around the world, such as the famous exhibition "Margiana". The current departure is another confirmation that the monuments of history have no place in the chests away from human eyes. Every nation should know its history and see its course on physical examples and interactive reproductions. To promote this idea, a contest among the museum workers of Turkmenistan “The Great Silk Road and the National Treasure” will be held in November in Turkmenabat. As part of the competition, participants will have to submit a scientific work to the jury, organize an exhibition and conduct an excursion on it. The winner will be determined by a professional jury.
