Schoolchildren from Turkmenistan to compete at CIS sports festival in Perm


Young Turkmen athletes will take part in the 6th International school sports festival of the CIS countries "Commonwealth", which will be held in Perm from 3 to 9 November.
The organizers of the grandiose sports festival for children are the ministries of sports, education of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, compatriots living abroad and international humanitarian cooperation, the CIS Interstate Fund for humanitarian cooperation, the CIS Executive Committee, the all-Russian school sports Federation and the Perm administration.
The festival will bring together 800 children from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. The national teams of the CIS countries will also include children from local diaspora living in Perm and Perm region.
The competition program includes seven sports - mini-football, basketball, volleyball, basketball 3x3, table tennis, badminton and chess. The venue of tournaments will be the sport complex named after V.P.Sukharev - the largest sports facility in the region, as well as the Sports Palace "Krasava", School of Olympic Reserve "Olympian".
In addition to competitions, an interesting cultural and educational program has been prepared for the children. Teams will visit the Museum of Permian antiquities, Perm art gallery, Historical Park "Russia - My History. Perm region”.
Young sports talents will be able to prove not only in force, dexterity and skills, but also in creativity. Each team will have to present at the concert the culture of the native people through national dances, songs and costumes.
On the sidelines of the festival, the forum on the development of children's sports in the CIS countries will be held. The event will be attended by Russian parliamentarians, representatives of the Perm administration, educational and sports agencies of the CIS countries, sports federations, as well as team leaders.
The International school sports festival of the CIS countries has been held since 2013. The main aims of the festival is to attract children and adolescents to physical culture and sports, the formation of a healthy lifestyle and increasing social activity among young people, as well as the strengthening of cooperation between the CIS member countries in the field of children's and youth sports.
