Competition of students’ works in the field of ecology has started
The Regional Environmental Center of Central Asia has launched a competition for student research on sustainable management of natural resources in the region.
Registration to the competition is open until May 31, 2020. Students, PhD (candidates) and undergraduates, whose research works are aimed at studying issues in the field of sustainable management of water, land, energy resources or the environment related to climate change, are invited to participate.
Participants are proposed to research and map out climate forecasting and climate risk rating, assess the impact of climate change on natural resources, climate change adaptation in the water and agricultural sectors, and other topics.
The goal is to train and unite young professionals in the field of climate change and sustainable management of natural resources, as well as to develop and strengthen research activities. Students will be able to participate in applied research and test their skills in pilot territories in countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan.
Winners will get up to US $1,500 to conduct further research on the topic.
The competition was organized within the framework of the CAMP4ASB program on climate change adaptation and its mitigation in the Aral Sea basin with the support of the World Bank and the CA Regional Environmental Center.
