Ashgabat residents will be able to get closer acquainted with the culture and art of Ukraine

On October 19, an exhibition of decorative and applied arts of Ukraine, organized by the diplomatic mission of this country in Turkmenistan, will open in Ashgabat’s Juma Studio. At the exhibition, which will last until November 7, residents of the Turkmen capital will be presented with various types of traditional dolls made by Ukrainian craftsmen. True connoisseurs of this type of art will also be able to replenish their collections with these unique souvenirs.Aina BERDYYEVA
A bright addition to the cultural event will be the evening of Ukrainian music, which will be performed by Turkmen artists.
From 26 to 28 October in the capital’s cinema there will be a show of famous Ukrainian cartoons, including the series “How the Cossacks ...”, which has been loved by many Turkmen people since childhood, telling about the adventures of three inseparable friends.
The collection of 9 cartoons, created by director Vladimir Dakhno, includes the series “How Cossacks Rescued their Brides” (1970), “How Cossacks Played Football” (1970), “How Cossacks became Olympians” (1978), “How Cossacks helped Musketeers” (1979), “How Cossacks partied at a wedding” (1984), “How Cossacks plaid hockey” (1995) and others.
There will also be presented cartoons by David Cherkassky “Treasure Island” based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson (1988), “Doctor Aibolit” (1984), “The Adventures of Captain Vrungel” (1977-1979) and “Once Upon a Time There Lived a Black Cat” (2006) by Yuri Marchenko.
