Residents of the CIS countries are invited to the “Memory Road” project

Ministry of Defense of Russia has launched the “Memory Road” internet project dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is intended to perpetuate the memory of all war participants and preserve the historical past.
“Memory Road” is an accessible to the public electronic library, a unified database of the Great Patriotic War’s participants, which is constantly updated with new information and photos.
The project implementation is the meticulous work on searching and verifying photographic materials about the war participants. Therefore, it attracts descendants and relatives of heroes, including those from the CIS countries, who can share photos of pre-war, war and post-war time, stories from family archives and stories about the exploits of their ancestors. The project’s website (link: https://foto.pamyat-naroda.ru) contains detailed information and instructions on how to upload data independently. All submitted materials will be processed and matched with existing data.
“Let’s save the native faces of Victory” – this is the motto of the campaign for searching and processing photos. For the users’ convenience, the portal provides intelligent search algorithms.
Among other issues, one of the “Memory Road” internet project’s results will be a memorial, constituting a military-historical monument with the names and portraits of heroes of the Great Patriotic War. It will be erected in the Moscow’s “Patriot” Park of Culture and Recreation.
