Turkmen musicians to perform at the International Bassoon Competition in Italy

Vladimir Mkrtumov, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, Senior Lecturer at the Special Piano Department of the Turkmen National Conservatory, and Rahat Chariyev, a teacher at a specialized music boarding school under the Turkmen National Conservatory, will take part at the 7th International Bassoon Competition “G.Rossini” in Pesaro on October 26-27. The contest at the Conservatorio Gioachino Rossini is held every two years and consists of two preliminary and final rounds. It is open to bassoonist of all nationalities. In the first round, Rahat Chariyev will play the Vivaldi Concert for bassoon and the first part of the Mozart Concert under the accompaniment of the piano. At the second round, the bassoonist will play the Hungarian Fantasy, as well as a contemporary work by composer Alexander Tansman. Vladimir Mkrtumov will accompany Rahat. If Rahat will reach the final, he will play the Mozart Concert under the accompaniment of the orchestra. Last two months, the musicians are preparing to the contest, mastering their technique of performance. “We will make every effort to achieve maximum results,” Vladimir Mkrtumov said.Ayna BERDIYEVA
