Uzbekistan postpones visits to Italy
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that in connection with the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in Italy, the Operational Headquarters was created at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome. Contacts with compatriots were established and maintained on a regular basis. For students from Uzbekistan, 2 groups were created in the Telegram messenger - “Our students in Italy” and “Tashkent-Torino-2019/2020”. In total, 866 fellow citizens are registered in the consular register, according to the Foreign Ministry. Among them there are no cades of infection. “By agreement with the Italian side, more than 20 visits of delegations of Uzbekistan’s ministries and departments, khokimiyats of Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions, were postponed to a later date,” the ministry said in a statement. Trips to Uzbekistan by representatives of several leading Italian companies have also been postponed.
