UNDP and Ministry of Labor of Turkmenistan train youth on entrepreneurship skills

The United Nations Development Program, jointly by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan under the support of the Government of Japan, has launched training for youth on entrepreneurship in various cities of the country – Turkmenabat, Mary, Tejen and Ashgabat.
The training is aimed to provide support to youth in start-up projects, to train on doing business details, and to promote effective leadership skills. UNDP project consultant Arslan Djorayev shared with the participants the basics of entrepreneurship – from an idea to drawing up a concrete action plan and allocating resources for your own business.
Along with theory, the participants advanced the practice of preparing correct business plan, and met experienced businessmen who gave practical advice to young people.
Young participants who after the training can present a well-thought-out business plan are given the opportunity to receive a grant as part of the UNDP Youth Project and purchase necessary equipment for production. According to Muhammetali Miraliyev, Head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the City of Turkmenbashi, last November four people from Turkmenbashi who participated at the training received a grant for their own business.
