Ministry of Health of IRI: death toll from coronavirus in Iran reached 54 persons
The number of victims of coronavirus of a new type (Сovid-19) in Iran reached 54 persons, 978 new cases of infection were revealed, as representative of the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic Kianush Jahanpur informed on March 1. «385 new cases have been detected since yesterday. From new cases of infection with coronavirus 170 were fixed in Teheran, 30 in Qum, 28 in Gilan, 13 in Esfahan, 14 in the province of Markazi, 11 in Mazandaran, 2 in South Khurasan, 1 in Ilam, 8 in the province of Fars, 17 in Razavi Khurasan, 2 in Kermanshah, 8 in Lorestan, 2 in Hormuzgan, 3 in Hamadan, 31 in Alborz, 3 in Semnan, 2 in Kerman, 5 in Kurdistan, 9 in Khuzestan, 1 in provinces of Sistan-Baluchestan. From them 11 persons died», he noted. The outbreak of the new coronavirus was fixed at the end of December, 2019 in the most densely populated city of Central China – in Wuhan with 12-million population. The World Health Organization recognized it an emergency situation of international scale, having characterized as epidemic with the numerous centres. Outside of the People’s Republic of China infection cases were revealed in 27 countries. The number infected with the new coronavirus exceeded 85 thousand persons in all countries, more than 2,9 thousand died.
