“Going to get my daughter”, “Going to get my son”: the happiest day in the family

Every family is always looking forward to having a baby. An pick-up with a newborn from the maternity hospital is the first family holiday that evokes special and reverent feelings for everyone.
A festively decorated car is one of the main attributes of such an important event. Today you will not surprise anyone anymore with a long inscription on a vehicle made up of A4 sheets saying: “Thank you for our son (daughter)!”
There are more romantic options. In addition to car decorations, attached dolls and stickers with images of characters from popular cartoons and Turkmen fairy tales, attention is drawn to the inscriptions: “Going to get my daughter”, “Going to get my son”, “I have a son!”, “I have a daughter!”, “Darling, thanks for the son!” and etc.
Happy fathers decorate their cars, turning them into an incredibly vivid sight. Car decoration, however, as well as organizing the entire ritual of meeting newborns, is a whole business run by specialized art studios. Their highly skilled workers can decorate the car from wheels to the roof with balloons, toys, flags, stickers and more. Plastic "Superman", Barbie dolls, Mickey Mouse and Ninja turtles are carefully fixed on the doors, windows, hoods and luggage racks.
The nurse passes the solemnly dressed newborn baby to the happy father and incredibly proud newly-made parents head to the ornate car for their child’s first photo shoot.
Well, upon arrival home everyone will find the second part of the ritual, which usually happens in the courtyard of the house. The mother-in-law of a young mother fumes every room in the house with incense to ward off evil spirits. Then begins the festive meal, during which the newborn baby is inseparably in his mother’s arms.
