Registration for the International online physics competition opened
Registration for "PhysiCo" - the Internet physics competition for schoolchildren of secondary and high school classes - started on the platform physico.sg. The competition is planned for one of the days from April 10 to April, 19 in the online examination mode.
An Olympiad style physics competition annually unites thousand schoolchildren of secondary educational establishments. What is interesting on the "PhysiCo" is that the emphasis of PhysiCo questions is mostly on critical thinking and application of basic concepts to problem solving, rather than depth of knowledge alone. The present training for future scientists whom «to know simply» - is not enough.
- Learners who succeeds in science, should be able to solve, at least, half of tasks without special preparation, - organizers on the site explain.
The online examination will be held in a test format, and last 90 minutes and consists of 40 questions on the basis of the basic school program for physics. Among themes - mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, fluctuations and waves, and modern physics.
As a result each participant will receive an individualized assessment report (IAR) in which all strong and weak points of his answers, his mistakes and recommendations about the deepening of knowledge will be taken into account. The best of the best will receive gold, silver and bronze awards, others - certificates of honour of participants.
