China increases commodity export to Central Asia
For January-September 2017, significant growth in exports of goods to Central Asia from the eastern Chinese city of Xiamen, located in the free trade zone of Fujian, is recorded, the Xinhua reports.
According to Xiamen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, during this period, totally 1,539 containers weighing about 26,000 tons were delivered to the region by rail, that is almost 95% and 80% up respectively as compared with the same period of 2016.
In the commodity mix, the major share is accounted for building materials, sports equipment, electronics, clothing, textiles, food and auto parts.
The export value, having increased by 190% year-on-year basis, has reached US $ 43 million. The main importers are Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Railroad routes from Xiamen to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have been operated since 2015. The delivery time is five days.
