The Government of Turkmenistan is taking measures to protect the country against coronavirus


President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed with Vice-Prime Minister, Chairman of the Emergency Disease Control Commission Purli Agamyradov and Minister of Health and Medical Industry Nurmuhammet Amannepesov prophylactic and preventive measures in connection with the threat of the COVID-19 coronavirus spread.
Since the disease was not registered in Turkmenistan, the main attention at the meeting with the head of the state was paid to the system of measures to prevent the possible penetration of COVID-19 into the country.
A regime of enhance sanitary and epidemiological monitoring was imposed at all checkpoints. Quarantine is provided for passengers arriving in Turkmenistan from abroad. Turkmen citizens are restricted from traveling to countries where new coronavirus foci are registered.
All medical services, duty teams and general health institutions are fully equipped with all the necessary diagnostic technique, medicines, disinfectants and personal protection.
Customs posts on all types of transport links have strengthened control measures for receiving incoming cargos and goods externally, and sanitizing vehicles crossing the border.
It is compiled a daily brief of the epidemiological situation in the regions and the capital, and data from WHO and other countries on the situation with coronavirus is analyzed.
The head of state noted the high level of organization of the system of preventive measures, thanks to which no one case of coronavirus has been recorded in Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization warns of the threat of a new coronavirus pandemic. In this regard, Mr. Berdimuhamedov said that it is necessary to really assess possible risks, be ready to respond to them, protecting the health of population of Turkmenistan against the dangerous disease.
