Uzbekistan's population exceeds 34 million
The population of Uzbekistan as of February 18 was 34,002,410 people, including 17,093,012 men and 16,909,398 women, the Uzbek media reported.
At the same time, as of January 1, 2020, the number of Uzbeks was 33 905 799 people. This was announced in his Telegram channel by the head of the press service of the State Statistics Committee Usmon Abdurasulov.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 127.3 thousand people were born in the country since the beginning of this year.
During this period, 23.6 thousand people arrived in the country, and 24.7 thousand departed.
The bulk of the population are Uzbeks. Representatives of other Turkic-speaking peoples live in the country: Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Turkmens, Uighurs, as well as Tatars. In addition, the republic has a large community of Tajiks. A significant part of the population is made up of Russian and Russian-speaking people, whose total number is about 16% of the total population of the republic. Koreans, Arabs, Central Asian Gypsies and Jews, Germans and many others also live here.
Uzbekistan is rich in natural resources, has no access to the sea. Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have a common border of 1,621 km.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were established on February 7, 1993. Countries share common historical and humanitarian values. A strong partnership has been established between the two states on the basis of a systematic and focused dialogue in various areas.
