Kazakhstan will gradually adopt Latin script
Kazakhstan joined the states using Latin script. The decree on the gradual replacement in the language sphere of the Cyrillic alphabet by the Latin script was signed by the Head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev.
According to the document, the entire process of the switching of the Kazakh language from Cyrillic to Latin graphics should occur before 2025.
After the collapse of the former USSR, where the Cyrillic alphabet was used, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Uzbekistan have adopted their writing into the Latin alphabet.
In the Central Asian region Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan continue to use the Cyrillic alphabet.
Mongolia seriously begins to consider about switching to the Latin alphabet. Gradual rejection of the Cyrillic alphabet is also taking place in Serbia.
Distribution of the Latin alphabet occurs not only in countries that previously used the Cyrillic alphabet. Even the Chinese are increasingly using the syllabic alphabet pinyin, thanks to which it became possible to write hieroglyphs with Latin symbols. It is very convenient when using mobile phones. However, it was true that in Japan such a written language (romaji) has not received much dissemination, although it is used relatively often. So, in large cities, the romaji is used to duplicate the names of streets and metro stations.
An example of a successful transition to the Latin alphabet is Turkey, where in 1922 a profound language reform was carried out, as a result of which there was a rejection of the Arabic script.
