“Scarlet Sails” of St. Petersburg are waiting for the Turkmen schoolchildren

The head of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Alexander Beglov, visited A. S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian school after a meeting with veterans-victims of siege of Leningrad living in Ashgabat. The Governor delivered a welcome speech to the students and announced that the “Scarlet Sails” festival is waiting for them in June.
“On graduation day, a three-masted brigantine under scarlet sails floats along the Neva river. This is the brig of dreams. And dreams in our city, as a rule, come true,” told Beglov.
Books were also donated to the school. Among them is the “Blockade book” by Daniil Granin and Ales Adamovich, which will allow students to broaden their understanding of the Great Patriotic war’s events through the prism of simple human stories.
