Ashgabat hockey section invites beginners

Hockey is spectacular and at the same time one of the most difficult sports. Its development began in Turkmenistan in 2006, when the country's first Ice Palace appeared in Ashgabat. Today, this sport attracts more and more courageous guys to its ranks. Hockey lessons instill a team spirit in young athletes, help to overcome fears and control emotions. No wonder it was sung in a famous song: "Only real men play hockey - a coward does not."
“I started training myself when I was 15 years old,” says Timur Martynenko, the coach of the future junior team. - Almost immediately I got into the Galkan team, then moved to Alp Arslan, where I played as a defender. Now I am a playing coach and I can say that hockey is very addictive. Intensive training is aimed at the development of all muscle groups of an athlete, concentration of attention and education of strong-willed qualities in players who can be useful not only in sports, but also in life.
First, little hockey players are taught to stay on the ice confidently while skating. After honing turns, sliding and braking, the guys learn to “fall” correctly to avoid injuries as much as possible. And since hockey is also a rather aggressive sport, a beginner must learn to dodge blows and jerks, run and jump on ice.
“There is nothing to worry about in hockey, the main thing is to start,” Timur Olegovich continues. - Each training session begins with the study of the basics of this game - how to hold the club correctly, how to strike the puck and work together in a team. Classes are held twice a day - early in the morning and in the evening, and this disciplines the players very well.
Equipment and gear for future hockey players are provided in the hockey section. Parents of boys who firmly decided to send their child to hockey should immediately understand that the sooner the child gets on the ice, the faster this sport will become more clear and closer to him. Children from six to nine years old are admitted to the Ashgabat hockey section.
- At this time, we are forming a children's team, and the reception of those who wish is held at the Winter Sports Palace. You can, of course, contact me by phone, but it would be better if the parents bring the child directly to training so that he himself sees the atmosphere prevailing on the site. When the team is formed, we plan to move to the Ice Palace. There, the team will have their own bus, which will take the guys to training and home.
To enroll a child in the hockey section, you need to collect a number of medical certificates about the kid’s health status. The future hockey player must be hardy and energetic, he will acquire all other qualities in team training.
Turkmen hockey, the first teams in which were created in 2011, is developing and gaining ground. And today, the national team of Turkmenistan represents the country at various international competitions. In 2018, in Sarajevo, at the qualifying world hockey championship, the national team of Turkmenistan, speaking in the third division, won a major victory over the team from Kuwait, defeating the opponent with a score of 24:2 and taking first place in their group.
