New Turkmen-Turkish phrasebook was published in Turkey

The first Turkmen-Turkish phrasebook prepared jointly by experts of the two countries was published in Turkey. Janan Shimshek, representative of the Erzurum Department of the Cultural Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, in an interview with ORIENT correspondent said that this speech guide is intended for a wide audience, including business people, tourists, students, etc.
- Changes are constantly taking place in our life, which have some effect on our everyday vocabulary: new words and expressions appear, and philologists give them their own interpretation. Modern linguistic features are reflected in the Turkmen-Turkish phrasebook, which will be especially useful for business people and travelers of both fraternal countries, Janan Shimshek explained, who also actively participated in the preparation and publication of this phrasebook.
According to Janan, it will help to correctly use neologisms in various situations, quickly find a common language in a variety of circumstances: at the airport, in a hotel, on the street, in a library, in a museum, in a restaurant, in a market, at school, in a pharmacy, in the park and other public places. To do this, the collection contains thematic sections in which dialogues are presented that focus on typical and possible “scenarios” for the development of events. Also, users are offered examples of correct phrases in the two languages. In addition, semantic interpretations are provided in this speech manual which pose a certain difficulty for the translation of expressions.
The new Turkmen-Turkish phrasebook, consisting of more than 300 pages, was published by the Istanbul Book Publishing House Fenomen Yayıncılık. This guidebook will also be interesting and useful for people who independently learn the Turkmen and Turkish languages.
