The Chinese authorities gave the new coronavirus a provisional name NCP (pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus), WHO has not yet given a permanent official international name for this disease, RIA Novosti reports. “It was decided to give the new disease a temporary name “pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus. ” The name in English is Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia, abbreviated NCP,” the PRC state health committee said in a statement. At the end of January, a meeting of the emergency committee of the World Health Organization was held, when the organization recognized the outbreak of a new coronavirus in China as an emergency of international importance. WHO has confirmed the courage and responsibility of China. The organization recommended that the new coronavirus be given the provisional name “Acute Respiratory Disease 2019-nCoV,” the numbers indicate the year the disease was detected, and the letters the abbreviation for “new type of coronavirus”. First of all, this was dictated by the fact that members of the public did not give their own names for the disease that would be associated with the city of Wuhan, for example, "Wuhan coronavirus." A decision on a permanent official name has not yet been made; it will be determined later through the international statistical classification of diseases and health problems (ICD). China's National Health Commission reported 37,198 confirmed cases. Taking into account the infected in all countries, the number of infected is 37 552 people. A total of 813 people died, including two outside of mainland China. China quickly and efficiently mobilized resources for prevention and treatment infrastructure and took more stringent measures than the standards of the International Health Regulations. The closure of the Wuhan transport hub, with its 11 million inhabitants - the first such blockage in the history of New China - means the determination of the Chinese to take responsibility for the common good of mankind. The country maintains daily contacts with the World Health Organization, exchanges key and timely biological information with the international community, takes integrated approaches to prevent further spread, and takes care of transparent communication with other countries. These steps indicate that the country's leaders are fully aware that efforts to combat the virus are not just a battle between China and an invisible monster, but also the settlement of an endless war with the long-standing enemy of mankind. China is fulfilling its commitment to contain the rampant spread of the virus. As WHO concluded in a statement dated January 30, "the measures taken by China are good not only for this country, but also for the rest of the world." Today, the world community, so closely connected in a common destiny, needs solidarity against the virus, mutual support and cross-border multisectoral cooperation, supporting the struggle of China and taking care of its court. Because these days one immediately suffers the suffering of a neighbor, caring for others also means caring for oneself. Leaders of dozens of countries do choose solidarity to join China in the fight against a common enemy. “China's success in overcoming the public health crisis will be a useful lesson for public health services around the world. Such progress represents a big step forward not only for the Chinese, but also for the public health of all countries,” writes China Daily.
