Geoktepa district awarded $ 1 million prize as the best in Turkmenistan
Geoktepa district of Ahal region was awarded the prize of 1 million US dollars as the best region of Turkmenistan in 2019. The corresponding decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at an expanded meeting of the Turkmen government following the results of last year. Geoktepe district is recognized as the winner of the competition among the regions of all regions of the country and cities with district rights, having achieved the best indicators in socio-economic and cultural development. The presidential decree orders the Central Bank of the country to allocate a million dollars to the district administration from the State Development Fund of the Golden Age of Turkmenistan. At a meeting of the Cabinet, the Turkmen leader also signed a decree announcing a similar competition this year. To do this, a special commission is created that analyzes the situation on the ground according to the main criteria and determines the best district, which is awarded a prize of $ 1 million. As a rule, the money received in the competition for the title of the best region of Turkmenistan is spent on bonus payments to production leaders and implementation of social and economic projects.
